Former SCAS Fellow Christian List Has Been Elected Fellow of the British Academy

Former SCAS Fellow Christian List, who is Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at London
School of Economics and Political Science, has been elected Fellow of the British Academy for the
humanities and social sciences.

List was in residence at the Collegium in the autumn of 2011. He is involved in the Franco-Swedish
Programme in Economics and Philosophy run by the Swedish Collegium, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond
(the Swedish Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences; RJ) and Fondation Maison des Sciences
de I’Homme (FMSH), and in the autumn of 2014, he is a visiting scholar at the Department of Philosophy
at Uppsala University, closely collaborating with those scholars of the programme that are currently in
residence at SCAS.

Christian List works in social choice theory, formal epistemology and the philosophy of social science,
focusing on formal modelling in the social sciences, the aggregation of individual inputs into collective
outputs and the interface between deliberation and decision-making, among other things.
