Former SCAS Fellow Karin Johannisson Has Passed Away

Former SCAS Fellow Karin Johannisson sadly passed away on 23 November, 2016. Johannisson,
born in 1944, was Professor em. of the History of Science and Ideas at Uppsala University, and a
writer. She was a Member of Class X of the Royal Academy of Sciences.

Johannisson was in residence at the Collegium in the autumn of 1995. She worked on her monograph
Kroppens tunna skal: Sex essäer om kropp, historia och kultur (Stockholm: PAN/Norstedt, 1998)
during her time at SCAS.
