Former SCAS Fellow Karl Schlögel has been Awarded the "Preis des Historischen Kollegs"
The "Preis des Historischen Kollegs 2016" has been awarded to former SCAS Fellow Karl Schlögel.
He
received the prize for his book Terror und Traum. Moskau 1937 (Hanser Verlag, München 2008),
which he worked on during his time as a Fellow in Residence at the Collegium in the
academic year
2006-07. The book has been published in several editions and has been translated into
e.g. English,
Russian,
Polish, Spanish and Swedish.
The prize award of the Historisches Kolleg is conferred every three years upon a distinguished
historian,
for an outstanding
work
of his/hers.
The award winner
receives EUR 30,000.
Schlögel is Professor em. of East Europan History at the Europa-Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt
(Oder).
