SCAS Long-term Fellow Michael Puett Has Been Elected Member of the Royal Swedish Academy
of Sciences
At the recent general meeting of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Michael Puett was one of five
scholars elected new members of the Academy. Puett was elected foreign member of the 'Class for
humanities and for outstanding services to science'.
Michael Puett is Walter C. Klein Professor of Chinese History and Harvard College Professor at
Harvard
University. He is also a Non-resident Long-term Fellow for Programmes in Anthropological and Historical
Sciences
and the Languages and Civilizations of East Asia at SCAS. In recent years, he has been in residence
at the
Collegium for shorter periods of time on a number of occasions. Most recently, he spent time at SCAS
during May and June 2016.
