Current SCAS Fellow David Cannadine is the New President of the British Academy
In July 2017, current SCAS Fellow Professor Sir David Cannadine succeeded Lord Nicholas
Stern as the President
of the British Academy.
The British Academy, founded in 1902, is the
UK’s national
body for the
humanities and social sciences. Cannadine was elected Fellow of
the Academy in
1999.
David Cannadine is Dodge Professor of History at Princeton University and Visiting
Professor
at the
University
of Oxford. He is in residence at the Swedish
Collegium during the academic
year
2017-18.
