Former SCAS Fellow Aleksander Kan has Passed Away

Former SCAS Fellow Aleksander Kan sadly passed away on 22 January 2017. Kan, born in Moscow
in 1925, was a historian specializing in the history of Scandinavia. He emigrated to Sweden in 1987
and was appointed Professor of History at the Universities of Uppsala and Oslo.

Kan was a Fellow in residence at the Swedish Collegium in its early days, during the second half of
the spring semester of 1987.
