Martin Sahlén Receives Funding from the Swedish National Space Agency

Current SCAS Fellow Martin Sahlén has been awarded a research grant by the Swedish National
Space Agency over 3+3 years, for a project on the first galaxies and dark matter with the satellites
Hubble Space Telescope, James Webb Space Telescope and Euclid (”De första galaxerna och mörk
materia med Hubble, James Webb och Euclid”). The project aims at using observations of galaxies
and the vast sea of hydrogen gas surrounding them in the early Universe in order to look for signs
of exotic forms of dark matter.

Martin Sahlén is Associate Professor of Astronomy, specializing in Astrophysics, at Uppsala
University. During the academic year 2020-21, he is at Natural Sciences Fellow in residence at the
Swedish Collegium.
