NetIAS

Created in 2004, the Network of European Institutes for Advanced Study (NetIAS) is an informal association
of twenty-two institutes for advanced study from fifteen European countries. Its purposes include stimulating a
dialogue between the European institutes for advanced study on IAS practices and possible forms of cooperation
as well as discussions with the European Union about possible contributions to the development of a European
research region and the European programmes promoting research. The Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study
was one of the founding members of NetIAS.

Among the joint activities the network is involved in is the European Institutes for Advanced Study (EURIAS)
Fellowship Programme.
Most of its member institutes participate in this international researcher mobility
programme, which was initiated by NetIAS in 2010 and has been co-financed by the European Union through
the 7th Framework Programme – COFUND action.

In April 2013, SCAS hosted the annual meeting of the NetIAS group with representatives from the member
institutes as well as many of the EURIAS Fellows for the academic year 2012–13.

NetIAS is co-ordinated by the RFIEA Foundation (Réseau français des instituts d’études avancées).
