Mikael S. Adolphson is the series editor of the brand new Japan and the World Book Series External link, opens in new window., launched by the Japanese Studies section at the University of Cambridge in collaboration with the University of Hawai’i Press.

Adolphson is the Keidanren Professor of Japanese Studies at the University of Cambridge. He was a Fellow at the Swedish Collegium in the academic year 2021-22.

Barak Kushner has been elected Fellow of the British Academy External link, opens in new window..

Kushner is Professor of East Asian History at the University of Cambridge. He was a Fellow in residence at SCAS in the academic year 2019-2020.

Valbona Muzaka has been appointed Professor of Economic History at the Department of Economic History (Uppsala Centre for Business History) at Uppsala University. The inaugural ceremony and lecture External link, opens in new window. will be held next week.

Muzaka was a Global Horizons Senior Fellow at SCAS in the academic year 2022-23.

Erik Zackrisson has been appointed Professor of Astrophysics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy (Astronomy and Space Physics) at Uppsala University.
The inaugural ceremony and lecture External link, opens in new window. will be held next week.

Zackrisson was a Natural Sciences Fellow in residence at the Collegium in the academic year 2023-24.
