Languages and Myths of Prehistory

In 2020, the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS) initiated a collaboration with the interdisciplinary research programme LAMP – Languages and Myths of Prehistory, which brings together researchers from a variety of disciplines, including linguistics, archaeology, ancient genomics, anthropology, and the history of religion. The overall aim of the project is to attempt to correlate linguistic and mythological data with genetic and archaeological mapping of prehistoric migrations. The programme is funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.

Principal Investigator (PI): Jenny Larsson, Stockholm University (SCAS Fellow, Autumn 2018). The LAMP research group is partly based at SCAS.
