Magnus Strand’s general research background is in commercial EU law and civil law. His publications mainly concern issues that may arise in private enforcement of EU law, such as damages claims for harm caused by cartels. His work on this includes both doctrinal and comparative contributions and cover various courses of action (such as damages, restitution, and injunctions) as well as distinct issues within those courses of action (such as causation issues and interest rates). Strand is also engaged in cross-disciplinary law and business research, such as studies of compliance work. Recently, his interests have taken him to projects on the regulation and governance of artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
Magnus Strand is in residence early November - mid-December 2025.
