Johan Elverskog has been awarded the 2026 Joseph Levenson Prize External link, opens in new window. (China, pre-1900) by the Association for Asian Studies for his book A History of Uyghur Buddhism External link, opens in new window. (Columbia University Press, 2024).
Johan Elverskog is Dedman Family Distinguished Professor, Professor of Religious Studies, and, by courtesy, Professor of History at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He is a Fellow in residence at SCAS in the academic year 2025-26. He was also a Fellow at the Collegium in 2007-08.

H.M. The King’s Medal, External link, opens in new window. the 8th size with the ribbon of the Royal Order of the Seraphim, has been conferred upon Marianne Gullberg for her outstanding contributions to language research. The medal was presented to her at a ceremony at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on 4 February 2026.
Marianne Gullberg is Professor of Psycholinguistics, and Chair/Director at Lund University Humanities Lab, and of the national research infrastructure HUMINFRA. She is also Non-resident Long-term Fellow for Programmes in Languages and Cognitive Science at SCAS.
