As of August 2026, Egil Asprem has taken up the role of Head of the Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies at Stockholm University.
Asprem, who is also Professor of the History of Religions, was a Sabbatical Fellow at the Collegium in the spring of 2026.
Michael David-Fox has been appointed Rector of the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen External link, opens in new window. /Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna, taking office in August 2026.
David-Fox is Professor of History and Director of the Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies at Georgetown University. He was a Fellow in residence at the Collegium in the spring of 1996.
Feyda Sayan-Cengiz and three of her colleagues are the recipients of the American Political Science Association’s 2026 APSA-PSA International Partnerships Award. External link, opens in new window. The award recognizes “political scientists engaged in collaborative and productive cross-national partnerships that make a significant contribution to the discipline in the areas of teaching, research, or civic engagement”.
They receive the award in recognition of their co-hosting of the Post-Disaster Online Writing Solidarity Group, which was founded in the wake of the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
Sayan-Cengiz was in residence at SCAS as a Barbro Klein Fellow in the spring of 2026. She is Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Manisa Celal Bayar University.
Sigrid Schottenius Cullhed has been promoted to Professor of Literature External link, opens in new window. at the Department of Literature and Rhetoric at Uppsala University as of 1 July 2026. The inauguration ceremony will take place in November.
Schottenius Cullhed was a Fellow in residence at SCAS in the autumn of 2025.
Magnus Strand has been appointed Head of Department of the newly established Department of Police Work at Uppsala University.
Strand is also Associate Professor of European Law at Uppsala University. He was a Short-term Researcher at SCAS in the late autumn of 2025.
