Former SCAS Fellow Mia Phillipson has been awarded the 2026 Rudbeck Medal External link, opens in new window. by Uppsala University.

The medal is awarded “for extraordinarily prominent achievements in science, to be conferred primarily for such accomplishments or findings attained at Uppsala University”. Phillipson, who receives it for "her pioneering work in the field of immune system physiology", will be presented with the medal at the anniversary celebrations of Uppsala University on 7 October 2026.

Mia Phillipson is Professor of Physiology at the Department of Medical Cell Biology at Uppsala University and Co-director at SciLifeLab. She was in residence at SCAS as a Natural Sciences Fellow in the spring of 2022.
