Jenny Andersson is a professor of the history of science and ideas at Uppsala University specializing in 20th-century European political thought. She has worked on contemporary social democracy, neoliberalism in the Nordic sphere, and the history of future thinking, futurology and future studies. Among her publications are The Future of the World. Futurology, Futurists, and the Struggle for the Post Cold War Imagination, Oxford University Press, 2018, and “Neoliberalism from Within: The Business Fund and the Struggle for Market Ideology in Sweden” in Contemporary European History, 2025.

At SCAS, Andersson will be working on her new project, “FUTURED: Future Ideologies after 1970”, which explores ideas of a posthuman future in the contemporary political imagination.
