Programme and Eligibility Criteria
The Sabbatical Fellowship Programme is a residential fellowship programme open to scholars mainly in the humanities and social sciences who hold a position at one of the nominating Swedish universities (see the list below).
The programme gives fellows the opportunity to concentrate on their own research interests, free from the teaching and administrative duties of ordinary university life. Fellows are, however, expected to be active members of the Collegium’s scholarly community and to participate in seminars and other academic events outside their own fields of specialization. See Academic Life for further information about life in residence.
At the time of nomination, candidates must have held a PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) for at least three years.
Remuneration
Sabbatical fellows retain their positions at their home universities while they are at SCAS, and the payroll expenses are thus covered by the home university.
When possible, the Collegium tries to offer accommodation to Sabbatical fellows.
