Adrienne Sörbom is Professor of Sociology at Stockholm and Södertörn Universities.She
is co-author of Discreet Power: How the World Economic Forum Shapes Market Agendas
(2018). She has published on topics such as global governance and contemporary political
organization. Her latest work regards the Future Industry – future consultancies, think tanks,
private research institutes selling and others – packaging and selling anticipation. The project
raises questions about the role of this industry in relation to democratic values and practices.
Publications here include Future by Design: Seductive Technologies of Anticipation within
the Future Industry (2020) and An Organized Network: World Economic Forum and the
Partial Organizing of Global Agendas (2019).
