LAMP - Languages and Myths of Prehistory

In 2020, the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study established a collaboration with the inter-
disciplinary research programme LAMP – Languages and Myths of Prehistory, a programme which
brings together scholars from different fields, such as linguistics, archaeology, ancient genomics,
anthropology, and history of religion. The overarching aim of the project is to attempt to correlate
the linguistic and mythological data with the genetic and archaeological map of prehistoric migrations.
The LAMP research group will be partially based at the Swedish Collegium.

Principal investigator (PI): Jenny Larsson, Stockholm University (SCAS Fellow, autumn 2018).

The programme is funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
