Book Prize for Holocaust Research
Former SCAS Fellow Bernard Wasserstein has been awarded the 2013 Yad Vashem International
Book Prize for Holocaust Research for his book On the Eve: The Jews of Europe Before the Second
World War (London: Profile Books, 2012). The book was finalized during Wasserstein’s time in
residence at the Collegium in the academic year 2011-12.
Bernard Wasserstein is Harriet and Ulrich E. Meyer Professor Emeritus of Modern European Jewish
History at the University of Chicago.
