SCAS Announces Collaboration with the Center for the Human Past

Today SCAS is delighted to present the newly launched collaboration with the Center for the Human
Past (CHP). The Center for the Human Past was established in 2024 as a Centre of Excellence funded
by the Swedish Research Council, and seeks to bridge the three disciplines Archaeology, Genetics and
Linguistics – disciplines that investigate the same history of the same world populations in the last 10,000
years.

With its multi-and interdisciplinary approach the CHP is thus a suitable match for SCAS. The foundation
of the collaboration is the Human Past Fellowship Programme which allows both early career scholars
and more senior ones to be Fellows-in-residence at SCAS during a semester or an academic year, and to
collaborate with the CHP at the same time. SCAS will be hosting the first Human Past Fellows as of the
academic year 2024-25.
